Sixth Form Life
Student Leadership Team
As a member of the student leadership team, I collaborate with others to address student concerns, plan initiatives, and help improve the overall school experience. I take pride in working with others to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all.
How has time flown, it really did feel like yesterday being in Year 7, the youngest in the school to now transitioning into Year 13, being the oldest. I am quite honoured and thankful to be a part of the Sixth Form Leadership Team, receiving the role of Deputy Head Boy. I have huge plans for the year ahead and hope to make a vital contribution to the team, supporting the developmental growth of the school where possible.
Subject Ambassador
I enjoy having the role of an Ambassador, it allows me to expand my communication and leadership skills in a subject that I'm passionate about. I'm able to help my teachers in certain areas of Sociology when they need me, as well as take part in showcasing my knowledge to parents on our Opening Evening.
One reason I love my role as Psychology Ambassador is simply the fact that it's Psychology! I love the subject; it's been my favourite since I began to learn it at GCSE with my love for it only growing. It's interesting to me, learning about how our minds work and why people behave the way they do. Becoming the Psychology Ambassador only made it better, since now I'm responsible for more within Psychology, so I get to do it more, and feel as though my love has been recognised for the subject.
My ardour for foreign languages and linguistics blossomed within GCSE French and has only grown through A Level. As MFL Ambassador, I promote language learning across the school and support students within their studies. I thoroughly enjoy being able to share my passion for the subject and inspire other students to embrace new languages and broaden their global perspectives.
As the Ambassador for Law, I have the privilege of representing and supporting peers, as well as promoting engagement with legal studies. Law at A Level has helped me to develop critical thinking skills and has offered me the chance to explore real world cases and the intricacies of the legal system. Law empowers students to think critically and analytically about legal concepts.
From becoming an Ambassador for Performing Arts, I feel as if my love for the subject has been recognised. This role gives me the opportunity to help those lower down in the school to discover or even rediscover their passion for performing, in which inspiring others is something that I enjoy. I also want to pursue a career in acting, specifically musical theatre, in which this role has encouraged me to pursue my dream even further.
Being the Ambassador for Politics has given me a great opportunity to engage in the school community in discussing and connecting with people who share a similar passion for Politics like I do and has helped in developing my skills in communication and leadership. Politics helps people become aware of issues that need advocating for and I’m proud to be able to work towards advocating these issues.
Being a Psychology Ambassador is something that I take a lot of pride in as it allows me to share my infinite passion for the subject with others. From GCSE to now A Level, I have always had a curiosity about how the brain and body interact to shape our thoughts, feelings and behaviours in everyday life. Taking on this role is a great way for me to connect with others who share the same interests, but also turn my love for the subject into something where I can inspire many to aim high with their studies.
As a Fashion Ambassador, I believe this is a good opportunity for me to build my confidence and ambition towards my future. This opportunity not only allows me to show people the beauty of Fashion but also allows me to talk about my favourite subject. I’m most excited about helping out and learning more about the behind scenes of the fashion industry and the role of becoming an Ambassador.
One of the many reasons I love my role as the Chemistry Ambassador is because I get the chance to explore different depths of Chemistry and help others who are interested in the subject. I get to go into classes in the lower school and help students who are struggling with certain concepts, and it makes me happy to see the transformation in them - from them being nervous and stressed about answering a certain question, to them being confident and enthusiastic in answering them due to them excelling in a new skill I taught them. It also helps me become motivated to work harder in my subjects and challenge myself into becoming the best version of myself. I have always been passionate about learning Chemistry from a very young age.
