extended learning

Extended Learning is a vital part of our curriculum. It supports students in becoming independent learners, reinforces classroom teaching, and helps to develop strong self-discipline and a positive work ethic.
We believe Extended Learning offers many important benefits, including:
- encouraging students to build effective independent study habits
- providing regular opportunities for review and retrieval, which strengthens long-term retention of knowledge
- developing perseverance, confidence and initiative
- supporting good organisation and time-management skills
- promoting critical thinking, research, discussion and presentation using a wide range of resources
- ensuring continuity of learning, communication and feedback during periods of remote education
Extended Learning resources and activities are designed to deepen students’ understanding of lesson content. Teachers upload materials daily on Go4Schools for students to revisit at home, or complete missed work on SLZ (Student Learning Zone) if they are absent from lessons or learning remotely. We strongly encourage all parents and carers to take an active role in supporting their children to complete their extended learning and meet deadlines.
